Eli (2019) is a chilling horror movie that combines supernatural suspense with medical mystery. It narrates the tale of Eli Miller, a young child whose uncommon autoimmune condition has kept him confined to a small world. Eli, who is compelled to wear a protective suit in order to defend himself from the outside world's dangers, longs for a regular existence. Rose and Paul, his frantic parents, cling to the last shred of hope—a remote medical center headed by the mysterious Dr. Isabella Horn.
Situated in a big, modernized estate, the institution guarantees a recovery for Eli's ailment. At first, Eli is ecstatic. In sharp contrast to his solitary existence, he may now roam the home, enjoy human contact, and eventually take off the stifling suit. But when Eli begins to notice odd things happening to him, a feeling of dread begins to surface. There are mysterious shadows hiding in the corners and eerie murmurs resonating down the hallways, giving the impression that the home is hiding something.
Rose and Paul are reassured by Dr. Horn—who exudes confidence and a steely gaze—that the treatment, despite its severity, is their last hope. Eli is made weaker and more disoriented by a succession of gruesome and unusual medical operations. Eli becomes friends with Haley, a different patient who stays at the clinic, as the therapy goes on. Haley alerts Eli to the potential threats in the home since, in contrast to Eli, she appears acclimated to the bizarre events.
Eli is driven by his curiosity to explore the hidden areas of the institution. He finds a secret chamber full of medical documents that describe the terrible outcomes of past patients. He realizes the awful truth: Dr. Horn's "treatments" are not what they seem to be. They seem like a deranged attempt to tap into some hidden strength that the sufferers possess.
Dr. Horn and Eli's parents' relationship becomes more tense in the interim. Rose begins to have doubts about Dr. Horn's techniques as she grows more concerned about Eli's failing health and the eerie environment. Paul first has faith in Dr. Horn's knowledge, but as doubts grow, he struggles with his feelings.
Eli and Haley become closer as they talk about their anxieties and unearth more information. They find out about Penny, a former patient of Dr. Horn's who vanished from the world inexplicably following a violent altercation. Eli looks for Penny out of a desperate need for information and a desire to escape the facility's evil clutches.
Eli's revelation of Dr. Horn's true motivations marks a turning point. It becomes clear that Dr. Horn is trying to awaken a strong force kept within the hospital rather than merely find a cure. Eli finds out to be more than simply a patient; in fact, he holds the key to releasing the power of this monster.
After the "treatment," Eli has unusual new powers, and he uses them to protect himself during the next combat.
